Regarding: VISA Fixed Acquirer Network Fee for Charitable Social Service Organizations – MCC 8398
The highlighted sections of the following contain new information regarding VISA Fixed Acquirer Network Fees for Charitable Social Service Organizations.
First Data has received the first set of VISA Fixed Acquirer Network Fee (FANF) rebates for qualified Charitable Social Service Organizations merchants. These rebates are for the October 2013 thru June 2014 time period.
Both the clients and merchants will receive credits for the cost billed during the above time period as applicable. Below is the time frame as to when these credits will be received:
- Merchants will see a credit on their account 12-29-2014 via JB55 Adjustments
* Batch ID of 12292014JF on the Merchant Batch Screen in CeMV and PM/MG Screen in 3270
* Placing the following memo on impact merchant accounts:
Visa FANF 8398 Charitable Adj’s 4Q13-2Q14
- Clients will receive a credit on their December residuals received in January.
Note: Credits will not be issued to Closed accounts at this time to prevent any negative impact to these merchants. First Data is evaluating the best manner to handle any credits due to these accounts.
Eligible Criteria Reminder:
Visa will provide a quarterly FANF billing rebate to acquirers for eligible Charitable and Social Service Organizations (MCC 8398) who meet the following requirements:
MCC 8398
Only charitable contributions (i.e. donations) should be submitted with MCC 8398
IRS-registered 501(c)(3)
At least 50 percent of the organizations activity in MCC 8398
A Examples 1
TIN 123456789 has 2 MIDS
MID 123456 has sales volume of $50,000 with MCC 8398
MID 456789 has sales volume of $40,000 under MCC 5999
Both MID 123456 and 456789 are eligible to receive the charitable rebate
B Example 2
TIN 987654321 has 2 MIDS
MID 112233 has sales volume of $50,000 with MCC 8398
MID 445566 has sales volume of $60,000 under MCC 5999
Neither MID 112233 nor 445566 is eligible to receive the charitable rebate
